James Ingram was an American singer, songwriter, and record producer known for his rich, deep voice and hit songs in the R&B and pop genres. He won two Grammy Awards and was nominated for two Academy Awards for Best Original Song. Having two number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart: “Baby, Come to Me” (a duet with Patti Austin) in 1983 and “I Don’t Have the Heart” in 1990.
